7  “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong” (2 Corinthians 12:7-12, KJV).

Agony and Ecstasy

Writing from your weakness and creating from your brokenness brings strength, a strength made soft upon the anvil of despair, brightened by sitting in the fire of heated emotions and honed like a sword by the persistent pounding of life. Like molding putty, God shapes your life through circumstances and events, through ups and downs . . . through agony and ecstasy. God shapes your life with the precision of a fine craftsman while leaving clues about to how to approach your future, clues that guide you home.

Angelic Verse

From the darkest night, from the deepest pit of despair, from the hell of hopelessness—your writing is born. Your writing, born with raven wings, raven tongue like a harp, turning sound into song, turning song into angelic verse. Your writing, shaped in the fiery hell of hardship, imbued with heavenly dew, soft angel breath whispering through your pen.

Illuminating the World

God’s grace turns dark to light. Mixing grace with the darkest experiences in your life creates a transformation of yourself . . . of your writing. Like rain from heaven, grace as seeds of light descends into the black soil of the earth, giving birth to luminous flowers, writers grounded in the earth shining with inspirational light, writers illuminating the world.
