The Christian Writer: Bursts of Sunlight

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12, KJV).

Spiritual insights create light, allowing us to see clearer, delve deeper, and become wiser. As Christian writers, we need to cultivate spiritual wisdom and dispense it in proper dosages, easily digested, Use fewer words to make a greater impact. Write shorter . . . sweeter . . . wiser.

A Few Words

Poetry and poetic prose can generate more light than dead clumps of words. Wordy sentences on top of wordy sentences bury meaning and smother insight. Aerate sentences. Give them space to breathe. For example, it is the space inside the vase which is essential to its use.

Inspire

Follow Jesus, spreading seeds of spiritual wisdom into the world through writing with words of light. Inspire others. Writing from the heart, tell stories that wake people up. Like Jesus with the parables, expand people’s consciousness, igniting a flame of hope in the gathering darkness.
