Psalms and Creative Writing: The True Path

Psalms and Creative Writing: The True PathPurify my mind
in the refiner’s fire.
Shelter me from sin.

I will walk
the true path,
in balance,
with an open heart
according to
your will.

I am awestruck
by your miracles.
I praise you for
your mercy.
I thank you
for your love.
–Terry Chitwood

These verses were inspired by parts of Psalm 26. The true path of following God’s guidance step-by-step through the maze of life leads to abundant blessings. We praise you, Lord; we thank you, Lord; we love you, Lord. May your miracles run through our lives like a gentle stream.

Heal Us

Hear our prayers with a merciful ear and treat us with lovingkindness in spite of our failings. Heal our hubris while purifying our minds. Allow your grace to wash our hearts clean and fill us with passion to do your will.

Lead Us

Melt our indifference . . . our apathy that like icicle-fingers engulfs our hearts. Lead us to the towering mountain that we must climb to be closer you. When we reach the top, we discover wild flowers blossoming from our hearts and our eyes glowing like small suns.
