Praising God
gives me joy.
Praying sets
me aflame.

Devotion is its
own reward.
The seed of ecstasy
is contained in
act of worship.

Resting in
God’s embrace,
my heart flies free,
–Terry Chitwood

These verses were inspired by parts of Psalm 4. Delight resides in prayer, a seed ready to sprout, watered through the act of praise. Creating a compassionate heart through prayer brings you closer to God . . . closer to the spiritual depths within yourself. Praying generates warmth, a fire within that burns brightly in the blackest night.

Transforming Prayer

Writing becomes prayer when words form like a divine dew and drop by drop nourish your soul . . . and the souls of others. Thus, prayer turns into love, and writing becomes a way of expressing that love. Liberating your heart frees your voice to speak–invoking divine authority.

Resting in God

The following lyrics from “Word of God Speak” by Mercy Me provide meaning:

Word of God Speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty

. . . Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness

Resting in God’s embrace provides you with the security to take risks in your writing as well as your life. Let your heart fly free.
