Praise pours
from my lips,
a river of song
echoing through
the canyons,
lifted by the wind
to soar across
the land.
Praise banishes fear,
brightens despair,
and heals a
broken heart.
Grace like
drops of sunlight
rains on the
givers of praise,
blessing them,
feeding them,
sustaining them.
–Terry Chitwood
Praise echoes throughout the world when sincerely given. Praise echoes throughout our bodies when deeply felt, reverberating in our wounds, cauterizing them with love, transforming them into song. Turning pain into praise heals our souls while glorifying God. Praise grounded in love benefits everybody—and is especially pleasing to God.
Broken
Praising the Lord rejuvenates our bodies while soothing our souls. We receive uncounted blessings through the act of praising God: healing our broken hearts, broken through our separation from God, broken through our worship of the intellect, broken through chasing the empty promises of the material world. Frantically grasping after the shallow, societal anti-values leads to despair, stomping on the spirit by running after illusions.
Grace
Enter grace. A beam of sunlight melting despair, grace flows into our lives unexpectedly . . . gently. Like a warm, fresh rain, grace cleanses our minds, wiping the dust from the mirror. Flowers blossom from our wounds, spreading a mesmerizing fragrance, catching the wind and moving through the world praising the Lord.
