God breathes light
into the sun,
a light more precious
than gold,
brightening
the mind,
polishing
the soul,
creating
consciousness..
–Terry Chitwood

These verses were inspired by parts of Psalm 19. God is the giver of light . . . daylight, moonlight, starlight, and mindlight. The Spirit ascends on wings of light; angels descend, gliding on wings of light. Rays of light flow from our foreheads, depicting consciousness.

Creation

“1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:1-5, KJV).

Born of the Light

Analogous to physical creation is the inner creation of consciousness. Each time we see with new eyes . . . light is created. Each time we expand our worldview . . . light is created. Each time we imitate Christ . . . light is created. We are born of the light; we are created to live in the light. As our souls resonate with God, we sing, “Let there be light.”
