4“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will” (1 Corinthians 12: 4-11, KJV).
What spiritual gift or gifts has the Holy Spirit given to you as a writer? You may be an open-hearted writer, gifted with inspiring others to walk a spiritual path in life, blessed with an iron faith which allows you to guide others out of the pit of adversity, graced with the art of expressing God’s love through words–opening new hearts to God’s word.
Words of Transformation
You may be a wisdom-filled writer, distilling knowledge into gems that give bright answers to hard questions, offering sage advice in times of horrendous suffering, giving insight through words that teach, words that contain the spark of transformation. You may be a healer/writer whose words embolden the sick to seek both physical and spiritual help for their condition, whose words point to the healing power of Jesus, and whose words of discernment guide others through the perils of dealing with evil in their lives. The healer/writer injects miracles into words—transforming body and soul.
Belonging to God
You may be a prophet/writer, belonging to God, living and breathing God’s purpose for your life, disseminating God’s word to the world, weaving dreams and visions sent by God into a meaningful tapestry for peoples’ lives. As a vehicle for God’s inspiration, your words like a golden thread guide others through the labyrinth of life, leading them to follow God all the days of their life.
Divine Duty
You may have a combination of writer’s traits from the various categories. In any case, it’s your divine duty to use your gifts from the Spirit for the greater good of the world and the glorification of God. So in Jesus’ name and with holy words full of overflowing love, soften the hard-hearted, feed the soul-starved, teach those with ears to hear, heal the sick and prophesy with the tongues of angels . . . for God has poured out His Spirit upon you.
