“Jesus said . . . ‘but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst; the water that I shall give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life’” (John 4:13-14, KJV).
Your inspiration to write disappears, ideas evaporating with your incendiary focus, a barren landscape unfolds as your creativity drys up, leaving you: stranded in the desert. With a desperation born of repeated frustration, you cling to old, out-moded ways of writing until you burn out. You need an infusion of the holy.
Telling New Stories
Drinking the living water, pouring water into your parched pen, watered seeds filled with new ideas start sprouting. Draw water from the well of who you have become, bringing new emotions to light for expression, telling new stories from what you have learned, through suffering, through pain—through the desert experience.
Spiritual Water Refreshes
From the heat of the desert to the coolness of a spring, the water refreshes, washing away the dust of past writing attempts, allowing the creative Spirit to mold your writing like clay, changing your writing’s texture, making it solid—yet malleable.
Write Free
From a new, flexible perspective, you write free, words flowing like a river, from your heart through your pen, from your pen to the heart of the world. And the world’s heart is transformed, sending springs of hope to the hopeless.

I would have to agree that if I don’t spend time in the Word, I don’t have much to say of any value.
Thanks for linking up to Thought-Provoking Thursday! 🙂
