Sun Rays

A Walk

My eyes already touch the sunny hill,

going far ahead of the road I have begun.

So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;

it has inner light, even from a distance –

and changes us, even if we do not reach it,

into something else, which, hardly sensing it,

we already are; a gesture waves us on

answering our own wave . . .

but what we feel is the wind in our face.

A Glimpse of Heaven

In our spiritual walk through life, we are always ahead of ourselves. We long for a taste of the otherworld . . . a glimpse of the heavenly realm. Our souls yearn to “touch the sunny hill.”  Our longing for experiencing the spiritual realm leads us down a transformative path. The ineffable grasps us. “We are grasped by what we cannot grasp.”

Spirit Wind

By sincerely pursuing a spiritual path, we change for the better. Walking the path of light changes us. Our future self waves to us from ahead and we answer with “our own wave” of renewed commitment.  As long as we feel “the wind in our faces,” we stay in close contact with the Spirit.
