Psalms and Creative Writing: Gazing at the Heavens

The Lord paints
the sky blue.
The Lord breathes stars
into the night sky.
The Lord’s love flows across
the earth like a river.
The Lord gathers the waters
and pours them into lakes,
becoming eyes in the earth
gazing at the heavens.
–Terry Chitwood

We are the eyes of the earth gazing at the heavens, containers of the light poured from the sun, candles burring in the night. Rivers of love flow from our hearts, watering the deserts, causing flowers to bloom from rocks, petals like small suns, radiating warmth—bringing joy.

Eyes of the Night

We are the sparks in the night sky, stars glimmering like gems, starlight seeding the black earth with diamonds. We are all jewels:

We are emeralds,
glowing green.
We are rubies,
burning red.
We are sapphires,
blue and bright.
We are the eyes
of the night.

Sparks

We are sparks of consciousness in the darkness of this world, part of a lattice of light, expanding awareness–exponentially. Our divine duty is to ride the breath of God to a higher perspective, embracing the world with insight and love. Breathe the world alive.
